Privacy policy for the application.
MLB Stadiums I've Been (the “App”) is a personal log of the Major League Baseball stadiums you have visited. It does not require an account, and it never asks for your name, email address or phone number. This policy explains the limited data the App handles and why.
To connect your own tips and statistics to your device without an account, the App uses an anonymous identifier: your device’s Android ID or, if it is not available, a random identifier generated by the App and stored on your device. It is sent to our server when the App loads tips (so your own tip and helpful votes can be shown), when you post, edit, delete, report or mark a tip as helpful, and with the optional statistics below.
You can see it in the App under Settings > Anonymous ID.
Data sharing is off until you agree to it in the consent dialog in the Community tab. Only then does the App send, together with the anonymous identifier, the visit status of each stadium, your rating and whether you marked the stadium as memorable.
We use this only to show community statistics (such as the most visited and highest rated stadiums) and your personal rank (“My rank”) among other users.
Visit dates are not sent. Data already shared can be deleted on request (see below).
When you post a tip, the App sends the tip text, the stadium, your optional rating and the anonymous identifier. Tips are public and are shown to all users under an anonymous name derived from the identifier (for example “Fan #1234”). You can edit or delete your own tip in the App at any time. When you mark a tip as helpful, the App sends the tip’s ID and the identifier so each person counts once.
Before your first tip you must agree to our Terms of Use and community guidelines; objectionable or abusive content is not tolerated.
When you tap On-Site Stamp, the App asks for location permission while you are using the App and reads your current position once. The position is checked on your device against the ballpark’s location to decide whether you can get an on-site stamp; it is never stored or sent to our server or anyone else, and the stamp only records the date and that it was made on site. The App does not use location in the background, and you can turn location access off at any time in your device settings.
You can report a tip or block its author. A report sends the tip’s ID and your anonymous identifier to our server; tips reported by several users are hidden automatically and reviewed.
Blocking hides that author’s tips on your device only (you can unblock them in Settings > Blocked users) and also reports the tip so we can review it.
The data described in this section is sent over encrypted HTTPS to our own server at https://tjqj.ddns.net/mlb-stadiums.
Your visit records and stamps, visit dates, ratings, notes, achievements, settings and your list of blocked authors are stored on your device and are not sent to us unless you use one of the features above. Like other app data, they may be included in your own device backup (Android Backup to your Google account) and restored when you reinstall; we cannot access that backup.
Photos you attach to stadiums are copied into the App’s private storage and are never uploaded to our server.
They are also excluded from Android cloud backup.
When you save a map, poster or achievement image, the App only adds that image to your photo library at your request; it does not read your other photos.
The App shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect and process data such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address and device information to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud, under Google’s own privacy policy.
You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads on your Android device in Settings > Google > Ads.
Besides the features above, the App downloads small configuration files for stadium guide updates and for banners for our other apps. All communication with our server uses encrypted HTTPS. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties other than the advertising provider described above.
You can delete your tips in the App. To delete everything associated with your anonymous identifier on our server (tips, helpful votes, reports and shared visit statistics), email us at jinhom6225@insightmyung.com with the Anonymous ID shown in Settings. We will delete it within 30 days. To remove data on your device, uninstall the App and, if you use Android Backup, delete the App’s backup in your Google account settings.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy when the App changes. The date below shows the latest revision.
