Privacy policy for the application.
This privacy policy applies to the KeepCovered: Medicaid Alerts app (the “app”, Android package com.insightmyung.keepcovered) provided by Insight & Myung LLC (the “developer”). The app is an unofficial guide: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any government agency, state Medicaid office or health insurance exchange, and it never takes applications or renewals itself. It does not require login or account creation, and it never asks for or sends your name, Social Security number, address, income or health records. The developer runs no server for this app and the app uses no analytics or crash reporting tools, so the developer does not directly collect or store your personal information. However, as described under “Advertising and Third-Party Services” below, our advertising partner may automatically process some data in order to show ads. The app is distributed only in the United States and is intended for adults (18+).
The developer does not collect any information that identifies you, such as your name, email address or phone number. Data processed by third-party services used in the app (advertising) is handled under those providers’ privacy policies, as described below.
The following is stored only on your device: the state you choose; your coverage type (Medicaid, Marketplace or none); your answer to “Does the new work rule apply to you?”; your next renewal month and the month you confirmed; your language; whether reminders are on; your setup progress (first run, unofficial-guide notice and reminder introduction); the time of the last data update; records of status-change notices already sent, a list of the last 20 such notices (time, topic and state code only, no notice text), up to three status changes held back by a 7-day waiting period, and when each topic was last notified; and how many times the app was opened and whether a review was already requested. The notification system also keeps the texts of the reminders scheduled on your phone, Android’s WorkManager keeps its own record of the daily background update job, and the app keeps a cached copy of the public state data file it downloads. This data is not sent to the developer, to Google or to any other server, is not used to target ads (the launch counter only decides when ads and the review request may show), and is excluded from Android cloud backups and device-to-device transfers. It is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device; no push server is used. Reminders are set to private visibility on the lock screen and their texts do not use the word “Medicaid”; you can hide notification content entirely in your Android notification settings.
This app uses Google AdMob to show ads. When ads are displayed, Google may collect and process certain data, such as your device’s advertising ID, IP address and device information, to deliver ads, measure ad performance and prevent fraud. This data is processed under Google’s privacy policy, not by the developer.
The app shows a banner ad at the bottom of its content screens (not on the setup or settings screens) and an interstitial (full-screen) ad over the start screen when the app starts (not on the very first launch). There is no in-app consent or privacy-choices screen. To show and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect your advertising ID, IP address, device information, approximate location estimated from your IP address, app interactions (such as app launches and ad taps) and diagnostic data, as described in Google’s “Play data disclosure for Google Mobile Ads SDK”, and Google may use this data for personalized ads. The ad requests the app sends contain no information about your state, coverage type, renewal month or work-rule answer. The developer does not sell your personal information. You can reset or delete your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
When you open the app, and once a day in the background (even if reminders are off), the app downloads a public file of state Medicaid and Marketplace dates from raw.githubusercontent.com (GitHub, github.com/jinhom6225/app-config) so that dates can be corrected without an app update. It also downloads a small public list of the developer’s other apps and their icons from the same place. These requests contain no information about you; like any HTTPS request they reveal only connection data such as your IP address and a standard User-Agent. The app uses Google Play’s in-app review and in-app update features, which are handled by Google Play under Google’s privacy policy. Links to official websites (such as Medicaid.gov, HealthCare.gov and state agency or exchange sites) and other help sites open in your browser, where those sites’ own privacy policies apply; the app does not track what you do there. “Report a wrong date” opens your mail app with a draft whose subject contains the state code you chose and the app version; nothing is sent unless you send the email yourself, and if you do, the developer receives your email address and message.
This app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this privacy policy changes, we will post the update on this page. This privacy policy is effective as of the latest update date below.
